After the end of the cease-fire, the Israeli attack on Gaza started again

After the end of the cease-fire, the Israeli attack on Gaza started again.

Israel has resumed war against Hamas in Gaza, accusing it of violating the terms of the ceasefire. Explosions and gunshots were heard as part of it.

A cease-fire between Israel and Hamas lasted seven days, during which 110 hostages held by Hamas were released. At the same time, 240 Palestinians imprisoned in Israel were also released.

The BBC has learned that mediators are working to reach an agreement between the two sides despite the outbreak of war.

Hamas attacked Israel last October 7. That attack killed 1,200 people and took 240 hostages. The Hamas-run Health Ministry said 14,800 people, including at least 6,000 children, have been killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza since then.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who is in the Middle East, told Israel to take 'more effective steps' to protect civilian lives. 32 killed in three hours

The health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza said 14 people had been killed in the first two hours since the ceasefire ended.

In a post on Telegram, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health said that dozens more people were injured in the Israeli airstrike.

Gaza's health ministry later said 32 people had been killed in the three hours since the fighting began. The Israel Defense Forces said the operation had resumed to hit Hamas strongholds.

In an interview with the BBC World Service, Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner said the IDF's objective has remained the same since the beginning of the conflict - to free all hostages and 'destroy Hamas'.

When asked where they were attacking, he said he could not give a direct answer "for the sake of the campaign". But he said the IDF was "conducting operations within the law."

He also said, "Hamas did not keep their word about releasing all the women and children, they did not honor the agreement they made."
