At one stage, the agitated students locked the main gate of the administrative building at 9 am. Then the vice-chancellor, registrar and other administrative officials of the university were trapped.

On the other hand, the university authorities made the accused official OSD in the afternoon in the face of student protests. They also formed a committee to investigate the incident. After that, they withdrew the movement at three and a half in the afternoon. The students said that on Saturday morning, the assistant professor of the Department of Nutrition and Food Science (NFS), Md. Nazrul Islam, was abused and humiliated by the personal assistant (PA-to) of the vice-chancellor, Md. Samsul Haque. Along with the student protest movement, the general teachers' organization Teachers' Association of the university held a human chain on the campus. The leaders of the teachers expressed solidarity with the student movement at the rally. The students became more agitated when the teachers expressed solidarity with the student movement. The agitated students announced at that time that the accused official Samsul Haque would continue to protest until he was dismissed from his job. They are demanding exemplary punishment of that official.

On the other hand, the university authorities made Samsul Haque OSD in the face of student protests in the afternoon. They also formed a five-member committee to investigate the incident.
